As a professional shopper with perpetually aching arches, I’ve got lots of opinions on shoes. Hunting for footwear is a hobby and a responsibility — to you and my plantar fasciitis-afflicted feet. That’s why Prime Day has my full attention — I’m zeroing in on shoes that won’t decimate my soles or my wallet.
I’ve survived enough PDs to spot a “deal” that’s all fluff. At Yahoo, we track prices so you don’t have to — we separate the artificially deflated deals from their phonily inflated “regular” prices. So, I give you this assurance: My picks are real bargains, no squinting required.
comfort-minded consumer. “I have flat feet and these sandals are comfortable for all-day wear. I like them so much, I order a new pair every year in the spring. The support is so much better than ordinary flip-flops and they look waaaay better! I keep a spare pair at our beach house. There is a tab on the top of the sandal that allows you to make them wider/narrower, depending on your needs. Highly recommend!”
stand-up gal. “I like that. I do not have to bend over and tie up my shoes. You actually don’t even need to touch the shoe; you can just put your foot inside, then step down and walk out the door. Doesn’t get any better than that. So they were easy to slip on and these shoes are very durable and I’ve walked on different surfaces working. They are also very supportive on your feet.”
one convert. “These are such a great find. With 72-year-old feet with issues. … It was an eureka moment. They look good with dresses, skirts, jeans, pants. Good price … happy feet.”
one enlightened educator. “They are incredibly comfortable. I take over 15,000 steps a day as a teacher, and these bad girls are crushing the shoe game.”
summer strider wrote: “I love these shoes. I have 3 pairs of them and wear them everywhere in summer. I like the style because it’s dressier and classier than a plain flip-flop. I have Plantar Fasciitis and I can wear these without a problem because they have good arch support. In fact I wore these walking 5-10 miles a day on Europe on vacation and they felt great on my feet.”
FF fan. “They are comfortable and I’m able to walk for long periods of time without tired feet. I also don’t stumble with them like I did with other types of thin sandals and rubber flip flops. Fitflop is a reputable company and they stand by their products.”
health care worker. “Cute with jeans, shorts or athletic wear. Does not cause discomfort to the top arch! Easy to wash, can even dry without fear of shrinking. Comfortable enough for working as a nurse or traveling to Disney or a Florida boat show!”
